Biomedicum. Building of the Year 2019
We designed textiles for the new Biomedicum building at Karolinska Institutet, which has won Building of the Year for 2019. Hurray!
Commissioned by Karolinkska Institutet and Nyréns Architects, Maria Löw created the artistic decor of the lecture hall in the form of black-out blinds with the motif Park 1 facing Solnavägen and with the motif Part 2 facing the interior courtyard.
In the building’s three dining rooms, Maria Löw has made selected color combinations for furnishing the rooms with textile INK, a curtain with a motif of leaf shadows. Production as taken place in close dialogue with Nyréns Architects. The textile is produced by Almedahls.
